From General Users
Most data that NCMS collects is used only to help the organization better serve its members and those who visit the Sites for information about NCMS and its programs. It is the general policy of the NCMS to collect and store only personal information that our members and visitors knowingly provide to us. If this policy changes, we will notify users via a special announcement placed on the Sites.

From NCMS Members and NCMS Conference and Meeting Registrants and other NCMS Customers
To obtain access to members-only resources and personalization features on the Sites, members and other users are asked to register and provide some limited information. This information is submitted on a voluntary basis. Depending on the application, NCMS may ask users to provide their name, job title and experience, certifications held, organization or company name, preferred address, business phone, and email address. Similar information may be submitted to NCMS through membership applications, certification/recertification applications, conference, seminar, program or meeting registrations, resume postings, or any contest registrations that NCMS may offer from time to time. Additionally, some emails sent in HTML format by NCMS to its members through its listservs and electronic newsletters, NCMS will collect specific information regarding what the recipient does with that email. For those emails, NCMS will monitor whether a recipient subsequently clicks through to links provided in the message. Other information collected through this tracking feature includes: email address of a user, the date and time of the various clicks, a message number, name of the list from which the message sent, tracking URL number and a destination page.
NCMS only uses this information to enhance its services to and on behalf of members and to maximize and improve the website experience. Except as set forth below, the information is not distributed or sold in any other manner.

How does NCMS use data collected?
NCMS may use personally identifiable information in a number of ways, including:
- To communicate with you about your account or your membership, or to communicate information about the NCMS Sites and programs, meetings and events;
- To build higher quality, more useful services, such as by analyzing usage trends, and by measuring demographics and interests regarding specific areas of the website;
- To provide you with prompt and effective member/customer services;
- To support the operation of the Sites, troubleshoot problems, resolve disputes, and to enforce NCMS Terms and Conditions;
- To send promotional and informational communications and materials to you about the NCMS, and products, services, events and programs offered or authorized by NCMS.

Disclosure of Personal Data Collected
NCMS may disclose personally identifiable information about you to third parties as follows:
- With your consent.
- To facilitate a transaction or communication with a third party that you have initiated. On occasion, NCMS may also provide limited data to third parties that offer NCMS members products and/or services. This limited data includes name, company affiliation, business address, and email address. Users may request that NCMS refrain from disclosing the data it collects to third parties (see #8 below).
- To the agents and advisors of NCMS (such as our accountants or attorneys). We only disclose the personal information necessary for them to provide their services to NCMS, and only under strict confidentiality restrictions.
- As NCMS reasonably believes necessary to 1) comply with the law (including court and government orders, and civil subpoenas); 2) enforce or apply NCMS Terms and Conditions and other agreements; or 3) protect the rights, property or safety of the NCMS, our members, Sites users or others.
- If you partake (or we reasonably suspect that you are partaking) in any illegal or potentially illegal activity. We may disclose personal information even without a subpoena, warrant or other court order, to the extent we feel it is necessary to inform and cooperate with law enforcement agencies or other appropriate authorities.
- The Sites are not intended for use by children under the age of thirteen (13) years of age. To the extent that NCMS is able to determine the age of users by their submissions to or communications with the Sites, NCMS will not knowingly 1) collect or post information from individuals under thirteen (13) years of age without consent of a parent or guardian, or 2) provide any personally identifying information collected from users under the age of thirteen (13), regardless of its source, to any third party for any purpose whatsoever.
- In aggregated form, i.e. information about multiple users collectively without identifying any individual user, such as the total number of visitors to a particular section or page during a given week.

Consent to Use Personal Information
For the purposes of the Data Protection Act(s) 1984 and 1998 (as applicable), NCMS, its agents, must store, host and otherwise process the information (including personal data) supplied by the user when registering for the NCMS website. NCMS may send such data outside of the European Economic Area for processing. If you reside in the European Union, please indicate your affirmative consent that the personal information you have provided may be transferred and stored in countries outside of the EU, including the United States. User supplied information, as described in this policy, when registering for the website in order to allow NCMS (or its designated agents) to use the information to send the user unsolicited direct mail advertisements, promotions, and solicitations for third parties’ products and services.

Credit Card Account Information
NCMS does not disclose any credit card account information provided by its members and customers or Sites users, nor does it store any credit card account information on any of its Sites. When members or customers choose to pay using their credit cards, payment is made directly with a third-party credit card processing vendor via its secured site.

Security Measures
NCMS has implemented numerous security measures to prevent the unauthorized release of or access to personal information. In particular, when a visitor provides information through the Sites, NCMS offers the visitor the ability to use a secure server. The secure server encrypts all information a visitor inputs before it is sent to NCMS, and is also used to store personal information securely.

Third Party Websites
The NCMS Sites may contain links to other websites outside of NCMS. Unless NCMS explicitly states otherwise, it has NO control over these third party sites and their respective privacy practices. Thus, this Privacy Policy applies ONLY to information you supply (or that NCMS collects) in connection with the use of the NCMS website. You should review third party privacy policies in connection with visiting other websites before making any use of the same.

Upon request via email, postal mail or telephone during regular business hours, NCMS will provide to visitors a summary of any personally identifiable information retained by NCMS regarding the visitor.
